Irta tests concluded with the 22nd time of Romano and the twenty-third of Alonso, with a detachment from the leader A.Ogura of 1,574 s and 1,588 s respectively. Fenati covered 37 laps, while Lopez 42. The Sterilgarda Husqvarna Max Racing Team collected a lot of data in these tests, which will be fundamental to improve the setting of the FR250 GP, in view of the first grand prix to be held on the Losail Circuit in Qatar.
Both of ourriders were positive tests, which we remember last year were riding bikes with different characteristics, so it is only a matter of finding the right feeling with the brand new Husqvarna. The appointment is for the tests in Qatar, which will take place from February 28 to March 1. The word now to the protagonists.
Romano Fenati: “They have been positive tests. We have worked hard to try different settings, so that we can be more aggressive in the race and to be more confident with the tires. We are on the right track for me. We will make the last checks in the tests in Qatar and we will certainly be ready for the race.”
Alonso Lopez:” I am very happy for my first tests with Husqvarna. I think we have found a good setting, but we still need to improve the engine brake. I feel good on the bike and I’m sure we have the solution to our little problems. In the last tests in Qatar we will have the opportunity to try other solutions, to be competitive in the race.”
Max Biaggi Team Owner:” am very happy for this partnership between the Max Racing Team and Husqvarna Motorcycles. We are working hard to get good results in the championship. Our first goal was to test the new FR250 GP. This for us was the first test with all the drivers of the Championship. We faced some difficulties, but totally understandable, since our riders come from two different bikes. We just need to find the right setting, which can satisfy both. We are positive, also considering that, before the race, we still have three more days of testing in Qatar. I am sure further steps can be taken.”
