19 February 2020 – Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto.
The first day of IRTA testing ended today, in which all 31 riders entered in the Moto3 2020 world championship take part.
Romano has completed 61 laps in today’s three sessions, making his best lap in the morning session, in 1’46.256. With his team, he paid attention to adapting to the FR250 GP, making many changes to the suspension and engine brake. He has never made a time attack and tomorrow with good track conditions, he can definitely improve.
Alonso also made many laps, to be exact 62, to continue his journey of adaptation to the new Husqvarna. He got his best lap in 1’46.424, in session 2, which kicked off at 2.00 pm Alonso, on this first day of practice, was not exclusively interested in the performance, so there are certainly margins for improvement.
In the day’s standings Romano is tenth, with a gap of 0.771 s from the leader S.Garcia, while Alonso is fourteenth with a delay of 0.939 s. The appointment is for tomorrow morning at 10 am for the second day of the IRTA tests.
