14 May 2021 – Le Mans – France
As it always happens in Le Mans, the weather is very unpredictable and it influences a lot the developing of the free practice. Indeed the rain, fell throughout the night, has wetted the whole track and the free practice 1 took place on the wet track.
Due to this there have been multiples falls and also Romano and Adriàn slipped. Adriàn has anyway managed to reach the seventh position, while Romano ended the free practice 1 in seventeenth position. The weather conditions improved throughout the day and the session at 1.15 PM took place on a dry track, but with a not very high temperature, since it reached 13° C on the ground. Thanks to the dry track, all the pilots improved their times.
Romano did fifteen laps and at the last one he realized the his best lap, with the time of 1’42.553. He has a gap from the leader of the combined ranking G. Rodrigo of 0.403 s. The last run done by Romano has been excellent, since he kept a pace of 1’42 high. For what concerns Adriàn, with the time of 1’44.079 he results to be in seventeenth position, with a gap of 1.929 s. Our young pilot encountered some difficulties, due to the variable conditions of the track.
Here there are the comments of the protagonists of the Friday.
Romano Fenati: “This morning I did a little slip, that did not allow me to improve, but in the afternoon we worked very well. Indeed we did not make a lot of modifications, trying to adapt ourselves to the grip of the track. Today due to the rain the conditions of the track have been rather difficult. I am overall happy with the work that we are doing. We hope that we will do a good qualifying tomorrow.”
Adriàn Fernàndez: “The first day in Le Mans has been positive. I had a good feeling in the FP1 even if the track was wet, indeed I managed to reach the seventh position. In the second free practice the conditions were different, but we did a good job with the team. I feel confident for tomorrow.”
Max Biaggi – Team Owner: “The first day of free practice here in Le Mans has been influenced, as it often happens, by the rain. Throughout the afternoon all the pilots improved and Romano confirmed to be very fast. Adriàn has to improve the feeling with his bike, with condition of scarce adherence.”
