On the eve of the penultimate Grand Prix of this 2020 season, the Sterilgarda Max Racing Team, Factory Team Husqvarna Motorcycles, is glad to announce that Romano Fenati and Alonso Lopez signed an extension of their contract, that connects them to our Team for the next championship 2021.
The confirmation of our two pilots guarantees continuity to our Team, that we remind is at the second year of the world championship, after the fantastic debut of 2019 culminated with the second position in the pilots’ ranking. Thanks to the continuity, it will be possible to capitalize on the fantastic work done this year, in order to achieve solid results more frequently.

Throughout this season, both our pilots, after a natural period of adjustments to the new bike, started to improve their performances. Romano in the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna has achieved an important victory, that has allowed him to become the most winning pilot in Moto3 history. Furthermore the victory obtained by our pilot on the Misano World Circuit is the first win for Husqvarna Motorcycles in the Moto3 category. At the moment Romano is in eleventh place in the world championship ranking, after he scored points on eight occasions. For Alonso, because of his young age, the current is only his third year of participation in the World Championship of Moto3, thus there are wide margins of improvement. Besides in the last Grand Prixes, our young bearer showed off a good feeling with his Husqvarna, thanks to which he has been on more than one occasion pretty fast. Alonso obtained as the best result the fifth position in the Grand Prix of Catalonia, getting points in other three races.

We are proud to continue our adventure in the Moto3 category as Factory Team Husqvarna Motorcycles, with Romano and Alonso, thanks to the support primarily of our main sponsor Sterilgarda, that from the faraway 2008 accompanies the victorious feats of our Team Owner Max Biaggi and thanks also to the support of all the other our sponsors, with all of them we hope to reach other important victories.

We are working very hard and step by step we are reducing the gap with the first group. This is very important for next year, when we will be able to do some great races, demonstrating our potential.”

Max Biaggi – Team Owner: “This year, after a beginning in which we expected better performances from our pilots, Romano changed his results decisively, reaching the positions to which we yearned for. He earned a win, after which he has always been very competitive. We expect a lot from him for the next year since, starting from the performances showed off in this second half of the championship, Romano has all the means to do an excellent 2021.
Alonso showed us some good races, even if there have been too many falls. Also for him there will be the possibility to do well, he will only have to be gain confidence to fight for the first positions constantly.
