We are going racing!

Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar 2024 - Preview

7 March 2024Lusail International Circuit – Qatar

For Trackhouse Racing, America’s MotoGP Team, arriving in Qatar for Round 1 of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship is a significant milestone in the short history of the team. After a whirlwind 3 months since the announcement of its entry, the Trackhouse team has been on a constant series of deadlines to be ready for testing and now is in good shape for the opening race. Bringing new colors to the Championship, finally, we are going racing!

Round 1 is a night race, under the Qatar lights and following a positive conclusion to the test at Lusail circuit two weeks ago, anticipation is high for the team’s first race. Weather conditions are forecast to be slightly warmer during race week than the test and since we last ran on the Lusail pavement, a bunch of World Endurance Championship sportscars have put several thousand miles worth of rubber down meaning grip levels are likely to be different.

Lots to get excited about when #88 Miguel Oliveira, on his RS-GP 24 and #25 Raul Fernandez, on his RS-GP 23 get on track for the first race weekend session on Friday, March 8.

MIGUEL OLIVEIRA : “I am optimistic about the first race. After ending the last part of the test on a positive note I believe we can build a very solid weekend. I don’t want to set any particular goal but I’m convinced that a position inside the top 10 is in our reach. I’m just looking forward to starting the first race and see what we can do.”

RAUL FERNANDEZ : “Honestly, I’m really happy to start here in Qatar. Our bike works very well at this track. The first thing on our to do list is trying to improve our start. Especially here in Qatar, I have the feeling that we have the base, which is important, but we also need to be ready for the launch off the line. In MotoGP you can win or lose many places there, so we need to be good. I’m very excited for this first round!”
