Motul TT Assen 2021 – Preview

24 June 2021TT Circuit Assen – Netherlands

The last Grand Prix, before the long summer break, is about to start. The circuit of Assen, also known as the University of the Motorbike, will host the ninth leg of this 2021 Championship, that seems to be very thrilling.
In the Grand Prix of Germany, ridden less than a week ago, the Sterilgarda Max Racing Team was not very lucky. Indeed Romano cut the finish line in thirteenth position and Adriàn retired due to a fall.

Throughout the race there have been a lot of crash, thus of the 26 pilots on the grid only 18 of them ended the race. Romano throughout the race incurred in three contacts, all of them in corner 1. The FIM MotoGP Stewards gave him a Long Lap Penalty, judging him guilty for the crash with D. Oncu. Few minutes later, R. Yamanaka fell right in front of him, always in corner 1, and our pilot in order to avoid to hit him had to go wide on the gravel, collecting even more gap. At the end of the twenty-seven race laps, he ended the race in thirteenth position. In the world championship ranking Romano losses a position and results to be in fifth position with 64 points.

Also the race of Adriàn was not very lucky, indeed due to a contact always in corner 1, fell. He tried to get back in the race, but after some laps he went back to the pit, since he collected a huge gap.

The track that will be the stage of this weekend of race has been deeply modified throughout the years. The last works have been done in 2006 reduced it by 1500 m; thus now it is 4542 m long. It has a straight line of 487 m, with 6 left corners and 12 right corners.

Here you can find the comments of Romano, Adriàn, and our Team Owner Max Biaggi.

Romano Fenati: “The circuit of Assen is one of the circuit that I like the most. We have to perform well in the last race before the summer break. We are doing a good work, so I think that we could achieve a good result.”

Adriàn Fernàndez: “Also this weekend of race will be on a track that is new to me. I am very happy with the work done in Germany and I hope to continue to work on this path.”

Max BiaggiTeam Owner: “It is good to be back on track immediately, after this last weekend. We cannot be happy about the result obtained in Germany. We need to be ready to face in a much more profitable way the difficulties that we encounter in the Moto3. We all have to work hard, in order to be the protagonists yet from Friday.”
