POLE POSITION ! Great Romano

Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich 2021 – Qualifying

14 August 2021Red Bull Ring – Spielberg – Austria

An extraordinary Romano, after 4 years conquers the first position on the grid and brings back the Husqvarna in Pole Position, for the first time after its come back in Moto3.
Our team leader obtains the pole on the Red Bull Ring in his own way, that is without the aid of any slipstream, furthermore in a very fast track, where the slipstream can help you to gain precious tenths.

Romano is always been among the faster in every session of free practice, also this weekend and this morning, throughout the FP3, lowered once again his best lap, obtaining the time of 1’36.101. With this time he gained direct access to the qualifying 2. During the qualifying he was not among the firsts to get on track, indeed he waited that the track was a little bit more empty, to have the chance to attack the time by himself. At the first attempt he obtained the time of 1’36.453. After two slower laps he did his last time attack, with which he obtained the time of 1’35.850, time that is very close to the All Time Lap Record. Our bearer succeeded to be the fastest in the last sector of the track.

On the other side of the pit our Adriàn, after the difficulties encountered yesterday, managed to improve his time in the free practice 3 by five tenths, obtaining the time of 1’36.647. In the combined ranking he resulted to be in twentieth position and he had to do the Q1. A fall in corner 1, throughout the last time attack of qualifying, prevented him to improve his time. Tomorrow he will start from the twenty-first position, with the time of 1’36.892.

Here you can find the statements of our Poleman, Adriàn and our Team Owner Max Biaggi.

Romano Fenati: “This Pole Position is very important for us and it is worth like a victory. I am very happy to obtain it. We worked a lot from yesterday and we managed to improve the setting of my bike. For this reason I have to thank all the guys of my team. Tomorrow it will be crucial to do a good race, to bring home some important points for the Championship.”

Adriàn Fernàndez: “Today it was a very difficult day! In the FP3 we tried to solve the issues that we had yesterday. We did not manage to get access to the Q2, but I am happy about the work done. Indeed, in the qualifying I felt really comfortable with the setting of the bike and I felt that I could improve. Unfortunately, I fell at the first corner and this prevented me to go on. I want to thank my team for the work done.”

Max BiaggiTeam Owner: “Today Romano gifted us with a huge joy, since he brought us back in pole position after two years! Moreover he brought the Husqvarna in Pole for the first time, after its come back in the MotoGP. I must say that this is a great satisfaction. We have to stay focus for the race of tomorrow !”
