At the end of the first two sessions of free practice of the Grand Prix of Portugal, Romano results in being in eleventh place, instead Alonso is in sixteenth place. We remind you that today’s rounds have been extended by 15 minutes compared to the usual 40 minutes, to allow all the pilots to take confidence with the new track. In both of the sessions on the Algarve International Circuit there has been the sun, that in the afternoon has heated the track reaching 30°C.
Romano has been from the beginning very fast in the morning round, showing off a very interesting pace. A harmless slip in the FP1 did not prevent him from realizing an excellent 1’49.054 time, with which Romano resulted to be second. In the afternoon session, Romano improved his time at the last of the fifteen laps done. With 1’48.697 he has a gap from the combined ranking leader A. Arenas of 0.710 s.
For what concerns Alonso, in the free practice 1 he sealed the time of 1’50.314, resulting in eighteenth place. In the FP2, he did twenty laps, realizing the time of 1’48.998 at the last lap. 1.011 s represents his gap from the leader of the combined ranking, of the first two session of free practice.

Romano Fenati: “I am delighted with the work done today on the bike. Tomorrow we will have to try to do some modifications to be at 100% and choose the race tire. It will be important to do a good qualifying, thus we have to work at our best.”
Alonso Lopez: “This track I like it a lot, but I have to improve in some parts of the track, because I lose a lot of time in some corners,while in other I am really fast. This is our goal for tomorrow and I think we can improve the time a lot. I want to thank my team for the work done.”
Max Biaggi – Team Owner: “The first day of free practice ended with good overall performances for our pilots. Obviously, being it a new track, we use all the available time to obtain the best setting possible. Tomorrow will be important to find the right compromise to reach good performances in the qualifying.”
