16 April 2021 – Algarve International Circuit – Portugal
In the combined ranking of the first two rounds of free practice, Romano results to be in fifth position, with the time of 1’50.270, while Adriàn is in eighteenth position, with 1’51.126 as best lap. 0.732 s and 1.588 s represent the gaps of our two pilots, from the leader of the Friday G. Rodrigo.
The morning round unfortunately has been not really meaningful, since the track, due to the rain fall throughout the night, was fall of spots of humidity.
Romano has been one of the first to get on track and at, the end of the 10 laps done by him, he obtained the time of 1’58.282. Adriàn did 7 laps, realizing the time of 2’01.229.
In the FP2, thanks to better weather conditions, the temperature on the ground reached 29° and with a completely dry track all the pilots on the grid succeeded to improve their times. Compering the best lap of this Friday, with the corresponding last Grand Prix ridden on the Algarve in 2020 it comes out a time which is almost two seconds slower! All of this was determined by the fact that at seventeen minutes from the end some drops of rain started to fall. Furthermore the rain at few minutes from the end increased its intensity, obliging all the pilots to come back to the pit. 12 are the laps done by Romano and 8 are the ones done by Adriàn in the free practice 2.
Here there are the statements of our two pilots and our Team Owner Max Biaggi.
Romano Fenati: “Despite of the very difficult weather conditions of this first day, we succeeded to use at the best these free practices. Indeed, we are working well and our goal for tomorrow is to do a good qualifying.”
Adriàn Fernàndez: “The FP1 was very difficult, because the condition of the track was not very good especially in the last 15 minutes. Because of the improvements of the weather the FP2 was better. I am overall happy with the feeling that I have with my bike.”
Max Biaggi – Team Owner: “This first day has been influenced by the weather, since the rain was the protagonist of both the sessions. All of this influences the performances of Romano and Adriàn. Tomorrow will be necessary to do a good job, to have the possibility to start ahead on the grid.”
