The first day of free practice of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix ended. As it was foreseeable, the second round on the same track has allowed all the pilots to decisively improve their times. The gap between the first one and the last one in the ranking has decreased even more. As a matter of fact the first twenty-four pilots are within a second! Also the almost perfect weather conditions, with the temperature in the air reached 27° in the afternoon and the 40° on the ground, have contributed to the decrease of the times.
Romano in the two rounds of free practice did 29 laps in total, doing he sealed his best time throughout the second session. 1’42.487 represents his best lap, that allows him to be in seventeenth position in the Combined Free Practice, with a time gap from the leader of the day J. Masia, equal to 0.824 s. The improvement compared to the first day of free practice of last weekend is of 0.729 s.
Even better is the improvement achieved by Alonso, who succeeded to decrease his best lap, compared to the Combined Free Practice of last Friday by 1.273 s. He did 29 laps in total, sealing his best lap with the time of 1’42.572 and a gap of 0.909 s.

Romano Fenati: “I am rather happy about the feeling that I have observed with the bike. The race pace is rather good. Tomorrow we will have to do some little modifications, in order to do a good qualifying,so that we will take off rather ahead on the starting grid.”
Alonso Lopez: “I am very happy because I think that we have a really good base to work on and we also made many steps ahead since last weekend. We keep on improving day by day. I think that this is crucial because now I know how to enhance my performance in order to be more competitive. This is the path to follow to obtain better results. I think that tomorrow I will do a very good job and I will be perform at a good level.”
Max Biaggi – Team Owner: “A Friday spent seeking to improve the race pace. The position in the ranking is not so good, but the times of both our pilots are decisively improved compared to the ones of last weekend. TTomorrow will be essential to realize this improvement in times.”
