WOW!!! Ayumu second, David sixth

Gran Premio Red Bull de España 2022 – FP2

29 April 2022Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto – Spain

IThe Friday of the Spanish Grand Prix ended with an excellent team result for the Sterilgarda Husqvarna Max Racing, in fact in second place we find our Ayumu, while David, in the third race with the Husqvarna 2022, gets a great sixth position.

The day did not start in the best way, in fact the rain of the night left evident wet spots on the track, making it very slow. The free practice times were much lower, compared to the corresponding times achieved in the Grand Prix last year. Ayumu at the end of the session was second and David nineteenth.

The afternoon session, thanks to a good weather, was definitely faster. The track in fact was in better conditions and thanks to this Ayumu has taken almost two seconds from the morning time. 1’46.473 is his best lap, made at the last of the thirteen laps, 0.132 seconds is the delay of Ayumu, from the leader of the combined ranking I. Guevara. Even greater is the improvement of David, who in free practice gets the time of 1’46.879, almost 3 and a half seconds better than the first session.

At the end of this first day of testing Ayumu confirms his speed, shown since the first Grand Prix of the year, while David on a track known to him, manages to show his great potential. In this regard, we leave you to the impressions of the protagonists of this Friday here in Jerez.

AYUMU SASAKI : “I am very happy about today. The weather was good, we managed to ride on dry conditions, and I felt good with the bike immediately in FP1. In FP2 we improved from FP1, which is a positive thing,. Also the race pace seems very good. We still have some minor things that we can improve, so tomorrow we can do even better. Overall I felt good on the bike, I am very confident about this week and today was surely a great start.”

DAVID SALVADOR : “It was a good day today. Jerez is a track that I really like and today in FP2 we made a great step forward. The Team prepared my bike very well and thanks to that, I had a great improvement. I’m very happy about that. We’ll work with the team tonight, so we can assess the changes that will allow me to improve further.”

MAX BIAGGI – TEAM OWNER : “A very positive first day of testing! It’s still Friday, but having started on the right foot this Grand Prix gives us a big push to work well. Ayumu was fast in every condition, confirming himself here in Jerez in the leading positions. The sixth place of Salvador is a pleasant surprise, so I hope that it can work like this all weekend, so as to achieve a great result.”
