25 July 2020 – Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto – Spain
In the day of the qualifying of the Gran Prix of Andalucia, the Team decided to withdraw Alonso from the remaining sessions of the weekend. Indeed yesterday at the end of the free practice 3, our spanish pilot did not feel good, due to which he preferred to go to the hospital in order to some exams. Alonso spent the night at the hospital under observation. We are hoping that he will feel better for the next Gran Prix, that will be ridden in Brno.
For what concerns Romano, this morning throughout the free practice 3 he has obtained his best lap of the combined three free practices, but that time resulted not to be enough to qualify for the Q2. Indeed with the time of 1’46.150 he resulted to be in twenty-second place of the combined free practice, ranking with a gap of 0.985 s from the leader.
The qualifying 1 took place with the usual sever temperatures, indeed On the ground the temperature reached 51°. Romano did just one run, sealing his best time throughout the last of the seven laps done. With the time of 1’46.808, tomorrow our pilot will take off from the seventh row in twenty-first place.
Here are the words of the protagonists.
Romano Fenati: “I am not happy about this qualifying. We need to work in order to do a good race tomorrow.”
Max Biaggi – Team Owner: “Until now it has been a weekend with with few satisfactions. Tomorrow unfortunately Romano will start rather faraway. My hope is that he will succeed in gaining some positions throughout the race. Thus we will confidently wait for race.”
