Fall for Romano, who was dominating the GP of San Marino

Gran Premio Octo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini 2021 – Race

19 September 2021Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli – Italy

Unfortunately the Grand Prix on the Misano World Circuit ended with a fall of our Romano, at the thirteenth lap.

Until that moment our team leader was literally dominating the race. Indeed he started from the pole, realizing the Holeshot and from the point onward he sealed an incredible pace, bringing his gap from the chaser at almost 3 seconds. With the time of 1’41.648, at the fifth lap he realized the fastest lap in race, that represents also the new Best Race Lap of the Misano World Circuit. Unfortunately at the thirteenth lap Romano lost the control in corner fifteen. Our pilot tried to raise the bike, that unsaddled him making him fall. Romano in the last two gran prix did not collect a lot of points, but he continued to show off an incredible speed and an excellent feeling with his Husqvarna.

For what concerns Adrian, after the crash of yesterday he accused a strong sprain to his ankle and this limited him throughout the race. our rookie started well from the twenty-first position, but unfortunately he did not manage to come back. He realized his best lap at the eighth lap, with the time of 1’42.392.

Here there are the statements of Romano, Adrian and our Team Owner Max Biaggi.

Romano Fenati: “I am disappointed with the crash in which I incurred, but I am happy because we had an incredible pace and it was the strongest among all the pilots. I am sorry for my team and all the fans that came here to support me. We will have to do a good race in Austin, trying to replicate the beginning of the race here in Misano.”

Adriàn Fernàndez: “The race was difficult and Romano was very fast in the first lap. I had a good feeling with the bike, but it was difficult for me to overtake the other pilots. I have a good feeling for the next race.”

Max BiaggiTeam Owner: “It was a very emotional race! Everything was going nicely and smoothly with Romano, who was leading the race with a solid gap. Unfortunately he crash and we waisted this 25 points, that were almost already in our pockets. Romano he showed off a very competitive combination of Rider, Bike and Team. We have to be in a way happy but on the other hand it was a huge occasion that we lost. We will return to this track, where he won last year, in a month, thus he will be ready to fight again. Now we have Austin.”
