06 November 2022 – Circuit Ricardo Tormo – Spain
The last race of the Max Racing Team in Moto3 ended with the fifth position of Ayumu and the eleventh of John.
Excellent result achieved by our two bearers in the world ranking, where Ayumu was fourth and John eleventh. In this 2022 Ayumu got 2 Victories, 4 second places, 3 third places and two pole positions, while John got 1 Victory.
Great result also in the Team ranking, where Sterilgarda Husqvarna Max Racing was third.
In four years in the Moto3 World Championship, the Max Racing Team participated in 72 races and scored 22 podiums, including 8 wins and 8 Pole Positions. The Max Racing Team brought back to the victory 3 great talents and led to the first victory a young talented driver.
We want to thank those who in these years have allowed us to achieve these great results.
First of all, we would like to thank Sterilgarda Alimenti, historical sponsor of our Team Owner Max Biaggi and who has supported the Max Racing Team since its debut. We also want to thank KTM and especially Husqvarna Motorcycles for the fantastic and successful partnership of these years and all the sponsors who supported us. We must not forget all the drivers who have dressed our colors and all the workers who have allowed us to achieve these great results.
A journey along six years in which the Max Racing Team has become a Top Team of Moto3.
We leave the word to Ayumu, to John at his last race in Moto3 and to our Team Owner Max Biaggi, the true soul of the Max Racing Team.
To him goes the last thanksgiving, the most important, because without Max Biaggi all this would not have been possible.
Thanks Legend !
AYUMU SASAKI : “it was a very good season. First of all, I want to say thank you to all my team and sponsors. It has been the best season of Moto3 so far for me. In the first half of the Championship, we went through some difficulties due to the injuries and some bad luck as well, but then in the second half of it, it was just incredible to finish with nine podiums, two wins and some incredible weekends. Also here, even if I struggled a lot on Friday, we improved throughout the weekend, and finally finished P5. We collected a lot of data for the next year. I will have the same crew and the same people around, so yeah, our target is only one, to win the championship and we will try to start with the right foot. I can’t wait to start again next year and try to do the best. Finally, I just want to say a big thank you to everyone that supported me during this season.”
JOHN MCPHEE : “It was an emotional race for me, my last race in Moto3. It was nice to be consistent and strong throughout all the weekend. I felt competitive. I had a good run of results, from Phillip Island to the win at Sepang and this was the best way to end my Moto3 career. Then here we have been in the top 10 all the weekend! A big thank you to the team, to everyone to support me, everyone that stood by me even in the difficult moments. I pushed 100% always and tried to finish the season in the best way, so thank you to everyone. I look forward to the next chapter. All I can say is thank you. I am very grateful for all.”
MAX BIAGGI – TEAM OWNER : “This last race of the Max Racing Team was very exciting for me. It has been six years since the Max Racing Team took to the track for the first time and I am absolutely proud of what we have achieved in these years. I have worked hard to achieve these results and today I feel satisfied. I leave a team that next year will be able to fight for the World Championship. I would say that I could not ask for more. There is always a bit of sadness when you change the path you are walking, but at this point it was necessary to do it, to find that enthusiasm that has always animated me. I want to thank all those who have allowed this to happen and finally I wish Ayumu and the whole Team all the best in competing for the Moto3 World Championship 2023.”
