12 November 2021 – Circuit Ricardo Tormo – Spain
First day of free practice characterized by uncertain weather conditions, that influenced the afternoon session. The free practice 1 took place with a partially cloudy sky and the rain started to fall after the end of the session.
Thanks to this, all the pilots of the grid managed to seal good times, that in the free practice 2 none was able to improve. Indeed in the break between the two sessions the rain was strong and this prevented to have a completely dry track, before the start of the second session. With a track in mix conditions, the majority of the pilots has delayed the start of the session, using only the last ten minutes. Romano preferred to do not take part to the session, to avoid to incur in useless risks, whereas Adrian got on track at twelve minutes from the end of the session and he incurred in a violent high side in corner 12. Our pilot, despite being very sore, luckily he did not report any damage.
In the combined ranking with the time of 1’40.034 Romano results in seventh position, with a gap from the leader of the ranking I. Guevara of 0.473 s. For Adrian the twelfth position, with a gap of 0.583 s and a best lap of 1’40.144.
Here the comments of Romano, Adrian, and our Team Owner Max Biaggi.
Romano Fenati: “The weather conditions today messed up our plans. Indeed while in the free practice 1 we managed to get on track and do a good work, we preferred to do not do the second session, since the conditions of the track were not on point. However I am satisfied with the overall result of this first day. Tomorrow we will try to do some little modifications to the setting, hoping to do well the qualifying.”
Adriàn Fernàndez: “This morning I felt confident with the bike and I managed to obtain a good time. In the free practice 2 instead the conditions of the track ware really complicated, since the majority of the track was wet. Unfortunately I incurred in a bad fall and for this reason I would like to say sorry to my team and thank them it for the work that it is doing. I hope tomorrow to find again a good feeling.”
Max Biaggi – Team Owner: “It is a pity that the weather ruined this first day of free practice. In the free practice 2 indeed the partially wet track did not allow any pilot to improve. Unfortunately, the weather forecasts for this weekend are not good, thus we will have to be ready in every condition that we will face, to have the chance to fight for the leading positions, both in the qualifying and in race.”
