Romano and Alonso experiment new paths to improve the setting

At the end of the two sessions of free practice of the Grand Prix of Teruel, in the combined ranking Romano results in third position while Alonso in twenty-first position.
This morning, the delay of an hour agreed upon the starting of the free practice 1, has allowed an increase of the temperatures on track, thus the majority of the pilots on the grid has been really fast.

Our Romano obtained 1’58.212, improving his best lap of the free practice of one week ago by 0.370 s. Our pilot, in the FP1 of this morning, did 13 laps resulting to be the fastest pilot in the first interval.
In the free practice of the afternoon Romano and his team experimented new paths for the setting, in order to try to improve the performances. In the FP2 he did 13 laps, obtaining his best lap in 1’58.996. In the combined ranking of the two sessions Romano results to be in third position, at 0.136 s from the leader J. Masia.

For what concerns Alonso, in the morning session at the end of the fourteen laps done he obtained the time of 1’59.068, that represents his best lap of this first day of free practice. In the combined ranking he is in twenty-first position, with a gap of 0.992 s. In the afternoon round Alonso also explored some solution of setup, to improve his feeling with the FR 250GP. At the end of the 15 laps done he obtained the time of 2’00.169.

Romano Fenati: “I am satisfied with how the outcome of the FP1, a little bit less with the one of the FP2. Anyway, with the work done in the second session, we have understood that the path to follow, in order to do the modifications compared to the setup of last weekend. Tomorrow it will be crucial to do a good qualifying, even more important than last week, in order to start at the best on Sunday.”

Alonso Lopez: “I’m happy with the result today, because I think I’m fast. During the fastest lap I found some riders in the middle of the track, so I couldn’t lower my time, but tomorrow I hope to improve! It is important to perfect the feeling with used tires, as in the last race we were not good at this.”

Max BiaggiTeam Owner: “After they went fast in the morning round both Romano and Alonso, in the FP2 tried to improve the feeling with the bike. Romano obtained an excellent time, while Alonso still has to find the solution that satisfies himself. I hope that tomorrow both of them will improve the performances highlighted last weekend.”
