The Grand Prix of Catalunya ends with a result below the expectations for our bearers. Indeed Romano ended the race in eleventh position, whereas Adriàn retired at the eleventh lap.

At the switching off of the traffic light, Romano did not have a great start from the eleventh position and at the end of the first lap he was in thirteen position. Fighting in the middle of the group and doing a lot of overtakes, at the beginning of the twelfth lap he managed to reach the first position! From that point onward, due to a series of slipstreams that create on the straight line, there have been a lot of overturns of leadership and at at the start of the last lap Romano was in fourteenth position. Unfortunately in corner 8 A. Sasaki fell right in front of Romano, who to avoid him was forced to do a huge brake. The bike of A. Sasaki has anyway hit the Husqvarna of our team leader and this contact broke the front fender. Romano managed with some difficulties to reach the finish line, obtaining the eleventh position. The gained points allowed him to reach the fourth position in the ranking of the championship.

Unfortunately also on the other side of the pit they managed to collect less than what we could. Indeed Adriàn started from the fifteenth position and at the end of the first lap was in twenty-second position. From the beginning Adriàn accused a scarce grip at the back tire. Besides our rookie remained stuck in the big group, in which it is easier to make mistakes. Indeed Adriàn had to serve two Long Lap Penalty, because he passed the limit of the track. Since he was very far from the leader and because of the difficulties caused by the scarce grip, our pilot preferred to abandon the race and go back to the pit.

Romano Fenati: “It is not easy to ride in this crazy group, especially here it was really hard to do so. The feeling with the bike was very good, even if I lost a little bit of confident with the front tire due to the contact. The next race will be surely better.”

Adriàn Fernàndez: “The race was difficult and I think that the first lap was crazy! I did not have a good feeling with the back wheel and when I opened the gas the situation was impossible, since the tire slipped a lot . It was impossible to finish the race. The next race will be better!”

Max Biaggi – Team Owner: “It was a very unlucky race! Indeed Romano could have collect a lot more, since at the last lap was in a good position. Unfortunately Sasaki fell right in front of him and his bike hit Romano. Romano did not fall, but he detached from the group that was fighting for the first positions. We hope that in Germany we will be luckier! Honestly I have to say that I did not like the last lap of the majority of the leading pilots, beside Romano and few other, that slowed down a lot to do not pull the opponents. I think that it is a shameful thing, since in these instants that crashes occur. I hope that the race direction saw what happened and it would take measures.”
