After Romano’s victory, we are back on track at the Barcelona Circuit

Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya 2020 – Preview

24 September 2020Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya – Spain.

The win achieved by Romano in the last Grand Prix, has allowed the Sterilgarda Max Racing Team to be back in the position that it occupied permanently last year.
A constant work from each member of the Team, without ever lose the focus on the goal and without ever have doubts on the choices made, has allowed our leading pilot to gain the right feeling with his FR 250GP. Romano is the pilot who has more wins in the Moto3 category and Sunday on the Misano World Circuit he has expressed all his talent, that he had already expressed many other times in the past. Our pilot has succeeded to remain in the leading group and with several amazing over-takings, he gained the lead of the group at two corners from the end. The first two pilots has arrived on the finish line with a gap of only 0.036 s, that proves the high competitiveness reached in the Moto3 category.

The wonderful day would have been perfect, if Alonso would have not run into a slip, while he was serving the long lap penalty, in a part of the track clearly slippery. Indeed our pilot as soon as he tried to bank fall on the ground. Luckily he did not injured himself. It needs to be said that Alonso in only eight race laps sealed the second race faster lap and he was doing a productive come back. It was such a pity, but the races unfortunately are also these.

The race that we are going to live is the ninth race of the 2020 and it will be held on the Barcelona track. The track has been completely repaved in 2018 and several modifications have been done to improve the security, after the tragic death in 2016 of the young Spanish rider Luis Salom. The track is 4627 meter long and has 6 left corners, 8 right corners and a main straight line of 1.047 meters long.

Here are the words of Romano, of Alonso and of the 6 times World Champion Max Biaggi, our Team Owner.

Romano Fenati: “For the race I want to be in the leading group and for this reason we need to work hard give your best on both Friday and Saturday, in order to be prepared for the race. It is important to be consistent. I really like this circuit, in fact for me the track is beautiful . We surely need another good result.”

Alonso Lopez: “I am very excited about the race of this weekend,, because I think that we are working very well and we are doing many steps forward. I like a lot this track and I believe that this could be an interesting weekend.”

Max BiaggiTeam Owner: “Last weekend has been truly amazing! Romano won the race, reiterating his value and gifting a great joy to the whole Team. New we will need to confirm the level reached for the championship. I am sorry for Alonso who until the fall was doing a good come back, after he realized the second faster race lap. We hope that he will redeem himself.”
