Barwa Grand Prix of Qatar 2021 – Preview

25 March 2021Losail International Circuit – Qatar

With the press conference that will be held at 5 pm ( local time ) the 2021 World Championship will begin. After the three days of test of last weekend, that took place on the track located on the outskirts of Doha, the schedule provides for the conduct of the first two races on the same track, the Losail one.

The Losail International is very spectacular and innovative. Its structure is very particular, indeed very slow corners are followed by fast ones that have to be connected one to the other in the right way, by using wisely the trajectory. On the straight line of 1068 m it is important to choose wisely the gear ratios and also it is needed to manage to get out strong from the last corner, in order to have the greater possible momentum. It has to be taken into consideration the possibility that the pilots will form a group, thus the slipstream has to be wisely used. Throughout the test held by the Sterilgarda Max Racing a few days ago, there was a strong wind, that besides creating stability problems, has brought a lot of sand on the track, modifying the grip.

Romano in that circumstance focused mainly on the setting of his bike, trying also aerodynamics solutions, that would limit the effects of the strong wind. He showed off a very fast pace in every condition and that bodes well for the race.
Adriàn focused on the understanding of the track and of the team. He improved the communication with the Team and also his feeling with his new FR 250 GP. Throughout the last day an important modification to the setting of the front suspension, has allowed him to clearly improve his performances.

To follow the statements of the components of the Team, for the first Grand Prix of the year.

Romano Fenati: “Finally the 2021 Championship starts! I am thrilled and I can not wait to compete in the first race, since we worked a lot in these tests and in my opinion we worked very well. I would like to use this race to understand our level and to continue to work on this path.”

Adriàn Fernàndez: “I am very happy to finally start this season. It is a dream come true for me to compete for the first time in the World Championship and for this reason I am very thrilled. I believe that we are working on the right path and step by step we are moving forward. We had to work a little bit harder at the beginning of the season but I believe that we are working well. I would like to thank the team and also my family, that has allowed my dream to come true.”

Max BiaggiTeam Owner: “We start this Championship on the Losail track and we can yet confront ourself with the other Teams. We did 3 days of test, thus we can and we have to push yet from the beginning. Our ambitions are high, especially with Romano, since it is the second year that he is working with us. I strongly believe in him and I wish that he will show off all his talent. We will also give all our support to Adriàn, in order to steer him in the right direction, that will allow him to perform at his best.”
